He Doesn't Even Go Here: Breaking Down Elon Musk's Role in Government, and the Trump Administration's Bombshell Declaration
Elon Musk has to leave the federal government in 100 days. Will he?
The Trump Administration dropped a bombshell in a late night court filing noting, for the first time, that Elon Musk was not a member of the Department of Government Efficiency and was not the leader of the amorphous government agency. In essence, the federal government is now saying that Musk does not even go here (figuratively). Instead, Musk’s position is limited to that of a “Senior Advisor” to the President of the United States, and that he does not have power to dictate any government decisions.
With this filing, the Department of Justice is opening itself up to significant in-court scrutiny, especially given Donald Trump’s recent comments about Elon Musk. This article will outline Elon Musk’s current role in government, the latest filing, the trouble for the Department of Justice, and when Musk has to leave the Trump Administration officially.
