Everything You Need To Know About The Future Of TikTok
Here is a step-by-step breakdown of what you should expect
The future of TikTok hangs in the balance, and this weekend is going to be a busy one. I wanted to take a moment, given all the news flying around about the future of TikTok, to give you a step-by-step breakdown of everything you should expect. Before I continue, if you want to support my independent journalism, please consider becoming a paid subscriber by clicking the button below:
First, the United States Supreme Court will be releasing opinions tomorrow at 10:00 AM EST. It is highly likely that the Supreme Court will release the TikTok ban opinion. It is not guaranteed, however. The Supreme Court has a number of options at its disposal.
Uphold the ban: The Supreme Court can uphold the ban, triggering a whole host of events this weekend. More to come below.
Strike down the ban: The Court could strike down the ban, meaning that TikTok wins and the ban is done.
Kick the can down the road: The Court could issue some type of injunction that kicks the can down the road and puts off the decision for a while.
Second, if the Supreme Court upholds the ban, then a flurry of things will happen. The January 19th ban date will remain in effect. But, the Biden Administration has already signaled to Apple and other companies that it will not enforce the ban on the 19th because of the holiday weekend. In essence, the Biden Administration has given TikTok a 36-hour stay from 12:00 AM on the 19th through 12:00 PM on the 20th, the moment Donald Trump is sworn in. Fear not, TikTok will not go dark on the 19th no matter what the Supreme Court does tomorrow.
Third, once Donald Trump is sworn into office, he will have to make a decision about the future of TikTok. Trump’s team has already signaled that it will be signing an executive order that kicks the can down the road for 60 or 90 days, although the exact details remain unknown.
All in all, I am confident that TikTok will remain, at least for a period of time. Regardless if TikTok stays, however, I will continue these daily newsletters and doing more long-form video content for you. More soon,

I want the TikTok algorithm as is, I don’t want it to sell to the USA at all, we ruin everything. Fingers crossed for tomorrow that they say it’s unconstitutional because then this whole BS is over
A high ranking security official was on a late night talk show, recently. He stated that TikTok is a way for the Chinese to track millions of Americans. Makes sense to me.
The RedNote app translates to Little Red Book. Also China owned. Coincidence?
I personally have avoided TikTok and TwittX as there are already too many other things vying for my attention.
