I got my snap today it’s a week late but at least I got groceries today.

Judy Steiner's avatar

Not surprised. DeSantis won't be in a hurry.

Goldilocks's avatar

That pesky autopen & Stephen Miller. Trump accuses Biden of others using his autopen. Projection, much?

thank goodness - people should be fed. I will never understand why republicans can think billionaires are ok while people are starving.

dee Romero's avatar

They are rich and it doesn't impact them.

Emma G's avatar

Many republicans are not rich, and most are not billionaires. Perhaps they are lost in magical thought or something. There are going to be plenty of people who look “well off” but will be one major medical procedure away from bankruptcy if this nonsense continues.

S. A. Linden's avatar

I swear, I don't understand Trump's obsession w/ obesity. The reason is obvious. Does he even SEE himself?

dee Romero's avatar

I was curious, not doubting your intent. Look at what I found on Google. These Republicans have no financancial worries. _____

In one analysis, median net worth for Republican members of Congress was approximately $1 million.

One of the easiest way to subdue the masses is by controlling the food. Food is a weapon and they use it.

Because Chuck Schumer and the Democrats think they can use family suffering as leverage to continue propping up Obamacare that was promised to reduce Healthcare by 25% but since 2012 has increased over 100%. SOCIALISM DOESN'T WORK!

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

Obama Care isn't Socialism. It uses the Capitalist Private Insurance companies. If anything, it's Capitalism that isn't working. Medicare For All is a much less expensive option for all of us, cutting out all those profits to Insurance companies and executives and all the middle men and insurance bureaucracy. Government payments directly to Doctors and Hospitals. And it isn't the Democrats that decided to withhold SNAP benefits, it was direct orders from Donald Trump and his team. Obama Care was a compromise that Democrats struck with Republicans. It was Republicans who insisted that Medical Care should stay in the Capitalist Private Sector. Get your facts straight and stop listening to that Nazi Garbage Trump puts out.

Hi Ray, the socialists gave me the right to vote. The socialists gave me paid holidays. The socialists gave me good healthcare. The socialists gave me union protection. The socialists gave me a decent retirement.

And you were saying?

dee Romero's avatar

Yes,on those great points that many people who complain never or knew or have simply never given these contributions to our lifestyle another thought.

S. A. Linden's avatar

How do you know? Have you had personal experience with "socialism"? Do you have a forty year old child living in your basement because he/she can't afford health insurance because of that nasty old ACA?

dee Romero's avatar

I would consider living choices and lifestyles a personal choice decision.

S. A. Linden's avatar

I cannot understand how you made 1 + 3 = 2? I was responding to "Ray."

WisconsinZebra's avatar

Many states were sending SNAP out so getting it this morning is more likely from your state?

Linda's avatar

Was it your state that funded it? If so what state so else can thank them.

dee Romero's avatar

You should be able to Google your questions, and get a comprehensive list of the state funded EBT sent out and the total that it cost the participating states.

Carol's avatar

I'm so thrilled for you. Finally, some good news! My sister hasn't received hers yet, but hopefully soon.

I'm glad you posted. It helps us all to know that something in this country actually worked the way it was promised!

Bobbi D.'s avatar

It was probably from her state not becuse they received it from the federal

Katarina's avatar

The elderly I work with in FLORIDA have received NO SNAP benefits as of 5:10 p.m. Friday. Fragile and frightened!!!

S. A. Linden's avatar

It's a shame. They need to hang on and live long enough to throw that butthole DeSantis out of office!

Windeedaze's avatar

My friend got, instead of $363… She got $43. For herself and her children. For the whole entire month.

Bella Prost's avatar

Whoa...good news but 43 is so little..........

ClanHay's avatar

fantastic news !!

Bella Prost's avatar

This sucks. he deserves double!

Adam Davidson's avatar

I’m so happy for you. Nobody should go without for any reason.

dee Romero's avatar

I'm sure glad to hear that. Didn't you get your full amount?

Katarina's avatar

Where do you live?

Alan's avatar

Really? Not in CO! Liar!

and he will take credit saying “it was me. I made sure everyone got their snap benefits not those loser democrats.” He will be patting himself on the back saying he is the greatest. I hate it here

Judy Steiner's avatar

Of course, he will. And his base will praise him. They think he unilaterally reinstated pay for the military. Only after he was pressured by military, their families, veterans, and the rest of the country. Just like SNAP.

Rachel's avatar

Couldn’t be more true, sigh

Sheri's avatar

Rudeness is rampant in his mind. No wonder he never liked dogs, since they can sense 'bad people' so acutely. I wish the reporter, whom he talked over by asking who she worked for and then slandered her by demeaning her employer and shutting her down, had plowed right back: 'Mr. Pres., who do you think you are?? You must think you are a big deal!'

ray jackson's avatar

Bullshit, illegals are being provided benefits just for illegally crossing into our country.

Jane's avatar

Illegals do NOT qualify! Put the kool aid down and open your eyes!

S. A. Linden's avatar

We have a new troll on the site tonight. Ray will get tired soon enough.

Bren's avatar

Illegal immigrants have never been eligible for SNAP or health insurance under ACA

ray jackson's avatar

You really need to review your sanctuary state and city laws before you make some blanket statement like that, if a Conservative made that statement the fallout of 'fact-checkers would have been astounding.

Bren's avatar

I live in a sanctuary city ans have pretty thoroughly reviewed. Loled into it as see this misunderstood often. Thanks

Karin's avatar

Ray Ray dearest you’ve got to stop listening to fox entertainment.

Diane B's avatar

He didn’t reverse course. He was forced to reinstate SNAP by a judge. It was NOT a choice.

Jill Landgrebe's avatar

Oregon already released the funds earlier today!! Our resistance to this inhumanity paid off. 👏👏👏

Same with Wisconsin they were done waiting around!?

Thank you Wisconsin.

So much information in this report. All of it vital and welcome. I am in awe of your ablity to inform, Aaron. Thank you a million times! Really pathetic of the Trump Regime to appeal a court order to feed our poorest and most vulnerabe. Beyond disgusting! Lastly, Elise Stefanik has as much chance of becoming the Governor of New York as a snowball in Hell! Insufferable arrogance! Thank you for being the highlight of my Friday Happy Hour! Nobody does it better! ❤️❤️❤️

Grateful for Governor Kotek 💙👊🏽

As an outsider watching from the UK, What's going on over the pond scares the hell out of me, as we've got our own asshole called farage, and unfortunately it's looking more and more likely he'll be in the hot seat very soon, and unfortunately there not enough in the UK that will stand and fight

Jennifer Hill's avatar

I hope people in the UK will take a bit of inspiration from Americans pushing back at Trump and that leading to Democrats kicking ass last week in the elections. Showing up at protests in person and resisting in person matters!

robbie wilcox's avatar

With my son over there ATM, what worries me is those he pardoned will once again rise to his call, when trump actually realises he's loosing his power, and this time they're be more violent then Jan 6, and civil war will breakout, hence taking over the home guard, and putting a fascist in the pentagon

Jennifer Hill's avatar

Where is you son in the U.S? I understand why you have that fear. We're very much in a wait-and-see time right now. There are reports of fractures in MAGA and acknowledgement that Democrats' victories this week were a rebuke to what the Trump administration and Republicans have done for 10 months. The 3 biggest elections - VA gov, NJ gov & Mamdani in NYC -- all showed significant %s of people who voted for Trump voting for those Democratic candidates. Trump's approval ratings are terrible. More Americans blame Republicans for the gov shutdown than they blame Dems. Repubs in Congress have been starting to feel that. Trump is looking weaker and weaker over time. So, the violence could end up being among MAGA people more than between MAGA supporters & the rest of it. That could all change, which makes us all nervous.

A weird sort of comfort I take is from the fact that Trump & his administration are really incompetent. I've always said Trump can't manage play in a sandbox, let alone anything of higher caliber. Plus, he is so afraid of the Epstein files being released and they WILL be released. The big question is, who will be hurt from that fall-out? I don't think it will lead to a civil war although it could lead to violence.

GGMaTess's avatar

I hope you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Arlene Meaney's avatar

I'll believe it when I see everyone get them. You're more optimistic than I am.

Jaclyns🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Brit's avatar

I got half then they took it back. Now it says deposit 11/12 😥

Jennifer Hill's avatar

I'm sorry. Trump & Republicans are disgusting.

robbie wilcox's avatar

He in LA ATM he works on the cruise lines and on a couple of months rehearsals

Anthony Rupert's avatar

There’s an easy way to end the shutdown… seat Adelita Grijalva.

M.Wilson's avatar

Just read last night there is a special election for an open seat in the 7th (🤔?) district in Tennessee. This would offset Grijalva's vote if the high odds the republican wins. It's in early Dec. If this goes past the early voting which ends in late Nov, that's his game plan and needs to be called out to insure focus is on this election is fair of outside interference. Tennessee is a state the Democrat party has written off as making any gain. With that attitude, I'm sure the Dems candidate is going it along with an additional 3 independents running.

S. A. Linden's avatar

Remember the three sturdy young Democratic legislators in Tenn. who bravely held on to their ideals and values. What courage!

M.Wilson's avatar

Off course I do. Justin Pearson is going after democrat Steve Cohn. Cohn has worked for his district but is 76 yrs old. He should be mentoring a possible successor and not run again.

MollyWhitebear's avatar

Thank you Debra! It's a big relief. But I'm reserving my extreme relief until next Monday in hopes it's still there at that time and doesn't disappear.

Trump's embrace of Hungary's dictator is shameful and un-American. Equally shameful is that the vast majority of Americans don't know the basics of geo-political issues. Trump was openly praising dictators in his first term and throughout the 2024 campaign. Very few seemed to care. No wonder Kamala Harris's warnings fell on deaf ears.

Arlene Meaney's avatar

you may be right. Abbott is just as cruel and vindictive as trump

I’m 63 almost 64 and they have taken half of my retirement from social security that I paid into for 40+ years! If I got what I’m supposed to be getting I wouldn’t qualify for food assistance!!! My food sssisy is about 5 bucks a day for a whole day. That’s what I was getting. How does anyone eat 3 meals a day with 5 bucks?

Jane's avatar

If you are working and not at your full retirement age, you can claim/receive Social Security at 62 but will have to give 50% of your income back until that date (or the year of that date). Been there done that. Is painful!

Peter Tey's avatar

It is scandalous, sorry to hear that. I feel for you

GGMaTess's avatar

What? This is the first time I have heard of anyone’s SS being taken away. How did they justify it?

David Katz's avatar

Can you share why that happened?

David Katz's avatar

Do you know why that happened? Any action by SSA is appealable.

uRNangel423's avatar

Sorry to hear that! If you have put in the required time, you should be entitled to collect the amount that you have earned.

Yesterday Trump pardoned two Tennessee politicians (house speaker and his chief of staff ) who had defrauded taxpayers. He did not pardon the one (still in jail) that cooperated with authorities.

C McDonald's avatar

Birds of a feather flock together. Trump flocks to his crooks.

S. A. Linden's avatar

Financial crimes are Trump's forte. Pathologically, he's unable to feel sympathy, but knows the feeling of karma breathing down his own neck.

Goldilocks's avatar

Of course not. He’s all in for the criminals like himself.
