For someone who is married to a foreigner, and has a VP married to a foreigner, he sure hates foreigners.

For what I hope is the last time, Usha Vance is NOT a foreigner!

Maria K.'s avatar

Correct, she is a second generation Indian American. But that means - while she is not a foreigner, Vance's in-laws are. So... the question still stands - having married someone from an immigrant family, why does he hate immigrants as much as he does?

Ask his President. His mother was a foreigner, as was his paternal grandfather - you know, the one who tried to return to Germany and was refused.

This was someone responding to my comment. It is very sad that many people in the USA jump to the conclusion that a brown person must be a foreigner.

Her parents are. Many don't know where she was born. All I remember hearing when trump announced Vance as running mate, was that usha was an Indian, from India. Period, end of story. I'm not maga. If they're not interested in giving info about her, I'm not super interested in researching anything. Also, you're trying to make dems bigoted because we're turning around and telling maga what's good for the goose, is good for the gander? Seriously? jfc

Terry's avatar

Her parents citizenship when she was born is unclear. It's still unclear, is all I can find. Because she's brown, she'd be deported. Maga would be screaming for the deportation of both her parents and her. But, look who married her. So maga say nothing.

I would imagine that's the point of saying she's a foreigner.

Jodi Benz's avatar

She is not a foreigner! She's first generation but was born in the US! Her parents were immigrants so what the administration is doing is definitely a slap in the face to them. She can't be happy about that.

trump's mother is from Tong, United Kingdom. His grandparents on his father's side immigrated to the US. So trump is the son of an immigrant and grandson of immigrants.

Vance's kin come from Kentucky.

Awesome!!! Trumps corrupt regime and abuse of power and disgusting executive overreach, and bullying minority classes of citizens. Is the definition of needing Restraining orders. Can the Trans community get a class action restraining order against the Trump regimes discrimination and harassment of themselves? And the lgbt community get a restraining order against all religious bigots. That would be awesome. No bigots, religious zealots should ever be able to make laws that affect a minority classes that they don’t like. I thought that was already a no-brainer, but the law breaking and disregard for all norms and laws are out the door with this dictator.
