UPDATE: One error in the original story. The mother called Tyler's brother, not Tyler, the gun toting good kid. The story has been updated.

HYPOCRISY Once Again -

“The “Second Amendment” wink-and-nod-endorsing-violence politics isn’t new either; Sharron Angle campaigned on “Second Amendment remedies” in 2010 and Donald Trump suggested in 2016 that the “Second Amendment people” might have to step up to stop Hillary Clinton.”

~ Thom Hartmann

And don’t forget Trump INCITED, and Kirk SUPPORTED, the Jan. 6 INSURRECTION where Federal Officers were KILLED, MAMED, TORTURED and SPAT on with Trump’s permission. He sat in front of his TV and did NOTHING.

WHERE was this support for Rep. Horton after she was murdered by a Trump supporter? Did he go to HER funeral?

https://open.substack.com/pub/thomhartmann/p/the-both-sides-scam-how-false-balance-4ac?r=24p296&utm_medium=ios

Trump “said prosecutions should move more quickly and that the United States should become more like China. ‘We have to have quick trials,’ he said on “Fox & Friends.” ‘I call it quick trials because in China, they do have quick trials. You know, they don’t wait six years.’”

“Donald Trump has never read and clearly doesn’t care about the Constitution.”

Is it true that AF 2 was used to carry Charlie’s carcass to D.C.?

Elaine Lueras's avatar

Yes, rat-faced Lady Maybelline the Couch Cuddler escorted it.

Schmendryck's avatar

I've said it before, there is no truth, at least not verifiable, to the rumor that JV Schvantz did to Kirk's neck wound the same thing that LBJ is alleged to have done to JFK's head wound while on the plane. At least no one saw him.

Laura A. Drury's avatar

Not to DC. JD Vance will fly to Utah to meet with Kirk’s family and friends. Then AF2 will be used to fly them all, along with Kirk’s casket, to Arizona.

M.Wilson's avatar

The story said casings. That's more than one but only one shot. The alleged message just in volume seems over the top. I find it odd I couldn't find any questioning, much less releasing who the 2 men on the stage making ovious signals connections to Kirk yesterday. Any info today? The devil is in the details.

M.Wilson's avatar

Just an added note. Did a simple search and this is all that popped. Play video in this article and note head turn of white shirt to the other guy. When video freeze, look and his hand👉. Could be by accident the freeze catch the gesture at that second. Repeated viewing "look" like the fingers were in that position on the arm and the extension of the arm just before that is odd. Maybe accidental the shot came a second lateral shown in another video. Link below:

Only 1 spent casing apparently

Teach84's avatar

I just came here to point out that her message was to Austin, not Tyler.

Laura A. Drury's avatar

There are so many different stories… I just read that Tyler had told a friend, whose parents told Tyler’s father (who is a sheriffs deputy). The story went on to say that his father took it to clergy, who then helped him contact the U.S. Marshals….(?)

John (gMail)'s avatar

You're reporting integrity is admirable and commendable!

Madison Esch's avatar

I just think it's interesting how a 22 year old college student (who apparently shoots guns casually as a hobby) only fires one shot from that distance and it's a perfect shot... idk

Bernnie Brandt's avatar

200 yards isn't that far for someone with a moderate amount of experience, a magnified optic, and the ability to use a prone position to aim at a mostly-stationary target.

Patricia Turcotte's avatar

In the neck and not body mass seems like a skilled shooter

Bernnie Brandt's avatar

Or an overzealous amateur who was hoping for a head shot, but failed to account for the 4-5 inch bullet drop that a .30-06 round has at that distance.

suzanne cheverie-pugh's avatar

If you watch the video closely it looks like the bullet actually hit the Kevlar shield he was wearing under his t-shirt and then ricocheted up to his neck

Susan Callihan's avatar

He is wearing a light T-shirt. A vest or shield would be apparent. It does not appear he was wearing anything other than the T-shirt.

Sandra Wallace's avatar

I saw a report day 1 that the bullet hit the bullet proof vest that Kirk was wearing first and ricocheted into his neck.

Verifications?

Margaret B's avatar

I find that on the Internet as a theory and await further evidence. "Lucky shot" in that case.

Susan Callihan's avatar

A friend of mine who hunts once a year said that isn't a difficult shot for someone with modest skills. He can take out a deer's throat at 200 yards.

Heather Hutchison's avatar

And the deer isn't sitting still in a chair.

Schmendryck's avatar

There is the example of the slowed down footage that someone posted demonstrating what appears to be the bullet striking just below the collarbone & moving Upward at an angle into his neck, & Kirk's body does appear to be radically in motion before the 2nd (neck) impact which would indicate the force of an upper torso hit to a vest. I can't find the damned video now, but it's on here somewhere. For God's sake it almost sounds like something out of that Oliver Stone "JFK" picture with Costner, but it is what it is.

LisaNRN's avatar

The neck was likely a 'lucky' miss. He should have been aiming for center mass.

*~Eli's avatar

Unless he was aiming for his head

Donna P's avatar

One shot and he hit the jugular? Thats better than a “good shot”, that’s a skilled marksman!

Patricia Turcotte's avatar

And Kirk was moving back and forth

Schmendryck's avatar

But NOT Right to Left!

Arggh🙄

Bernnie Brandt's avatar

He was probably aiming for the head and missed. It's reasonable to believe that he got overexcited and forgot about the 4-5 inches of drop for a round that size at that distance.

Leigh Long's avatar

I honestly don't think he was aiming for neck. Probably aiming at head and hit neck. But, you know these card carrying Gun owner families teach their kids at at early age to shoot. So, he was probably a pretty good shot.

Daniella Kass's avatar

It’s not hard to do.

Donna P's avatar

For a sharp shooter, no. For your average person it's hard. 200 yards. Per a Navy Seal: Shooter’s Skill Requirements

Executing this type of shot requires more than just agood rifle.

The shooter must:

Control breathing and trigger squeeze under pressure.

Understand how angle and environmental factors affects trajectory.

Compensate for rooftop winds and thermal currents.

Maintain stealth and stability in an exposed elevated position.

Escape without detection.

It’s not just pulling the trigger; it’s executing a complete ballistic equation in real time.

The shooter likely has a military or law enforcement background because evading law enforcement afterwards requires this kind of training, unless luck factors in. The aftermath was chaos, and this creates a diversion in the shooter’s favor.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

Thank you, Bernie, thank you for explaining that the kid was a good shot. The kid that shot the orange pedo’s ear was also a good shot. He just missed a tad ☹️

Clarke Shaw's avatar

That was fake. If it were real, Trump would be missing an ear. Thats how high velocity works.

Margaret B's avatar

Perhaps a bullet whizzed by and that ear was affected by the sound, in which case Trump grabbed his ear as a natural reaction, but when he and, later, his doctor realized there was no actual damage, they kept up the narrative because they thought it showed better evidence of "God's will" and Trump's special place as a "holy crusader" than a complete miss would. Either way, spun for political gain.

Clarke Shaw's avatar

But there is the annoying fact that the so called shooter was not anti Trump. And there was the blood. Like as if Trump nicked his ear when the shot came.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

Thank you for alerting us. I just remember being very disappointed that the kid’s shot was off a little that day.

MM Harris's avatar

Yes, various FBI & similar professionals interviewed during the search said the same, even at 500+ feet.

Change Champion's avatar

The hypocrisy from the right is getting harder and harder each day to deal with. Immediately jumping thd gun and saying it was a leftist. Not even one mention from them on the Colorado high school kid who was radicalized by an extremist group. Nothing in response to the killing of Melissa hortman, her husband and dog and the assassination attempts on others.

I am truly sick of Fox asking leading questions. Easy peasy . . . and malignant. And I don't know WTF is going on at the Wall St. Journal, but since the Murdoch dynasty has shifted, Lachlan certainly needs to be watched with a microscope. I thought he was in charge before, but is this Lachlan Murdoch unleashed? So many questions . . .

S. Michelle's avatar

Our Democratic leaders need to step up and point out all of the points you brought up. Right now, they are sounding like wet noodle politicians.

*~Eli's avatar

Oh right, because they so consistently step up.

Kat Pharis's avatar

Nancy Guzan's avatar

Stop it! This scapegoating has got to STOP! Wait for the facts.

Nick Gallup's avatar

Finally, a voice of reason. Good for you, Nancy. Here we are debating the mechanics of the shot fired instead of condemning It as a senseless and cowardly thing for the shooter to do. Charlie Kirk had every right to express his opinion. I'll be very surprised if Aaron doesn't come out and say the same thing. Lincoln said a house divided cannot stand. If we want our country to stand, we had better start acting like responsible citizens. Oppose Trump, sure, but do it with votes, not bullets. This shooting not only killed a fellow American but adversely affected our ability to stem the hemorrhaging that exists today. Thoughts and prayers in the most sincere and literal sense that it is not too late for us to heal the wounds of the country we all love so much and bring us together..

DB's avatar

I’m assuming since it hit him in the neck he was off target.

Robot Bender's avatar

Unless he was trying to hit him in the head. Hard to say, but I'm not sure it really matters.

Bernnie Brandt's avatar

Bullet drop from a .30-06 rifle (which they say he used) would be 4-5 inches at that distance. He made very well have been trying for a headshot but failed to account for bullet drop.

Gutterdandy's avatar

The real shooter got the bag from Bibi and is now relaxing back in Tel Aviv while this patsy takes the fall. How much did they pay the family to go along with this joke of a story?

Jumajaju11's avatar

That's how snipers do it, to "disconnect the computer", which is exactly what happened. Kirk instantly was posturing, which means (usually) brain death.

S. Michelle's avatar

I watched the video of the shooting and thought the same thing.

RUTH COSTELLO's avatar

Not a hard shot to make.

🌈 Lance Trottier 🌈's avatar

I understand your thoughts, but as a (very responsible) Second Amendment Democrat who grew up with guns and has fired a incredible array of arms from muzzle-loaders to Uzis and Thompsons and M16s plus a vast array in between, even a back yard gun enthusiast can be an excellent marksman. All it takes is practice if you have the skills and abilities to better yourself in this area.

As such, I would say that it may have been a "nearly perfect" shot... meaning he may have been aiming for "elsewhere in close proximity" to the neck. Yet, still "a good shot" (not that I consider any of this as "good". It is clearly not).

S. A. Linden's avatar

God bless technology . . .

Curious from Trump’s pathetic remark about extremists on the Right vs those on the Left. Those on the Right, he says, usually commit these acts to prevent crimes. Hum……….what crime did the Right Wing Zealot prevent when he murdered Melissa Hartman, a legislator in Minnesota, because he didn’t agree with her views????? The media, who are not FOX, must start countering Trump’s lies in the moment!!! Right Wing extremists have long been identified as “domestic terrorists”, unless Trump has banned that identification. Not Left Wing extremists…………

Marlo's avatar

“Monetizing Demagoguery

For profit, Charlie Kirk studied how to rile and to exploit the kids on campuses with his hyperbolic right-wing, talk-radio style.

Copied from Rush Limbaugh, Kirk’s goal was to monetize inflammatory speech using conspiracies and extremely far right positions. ‘Mass shootings of children is just the price we have to pay,’ he proffered, ‘to keep our military assault rifles.’”

~ Carl Selfie

S. A. Linden's avatar

And yet, Donald Trump sees the left wing as more threatening. To whom, we might ask?

You know, Kash Patel is acting like a child who got his hand caught in the cookie jar. What a brat, to be putting pressure on careful FBI agents to DO THEIR FREAKING JOB!

Kash needs to go, along with RFK, Jr., Bondi, and especially Noem.

Marlo's avatar

Update: the father convinced the suspect to turn himself in. The father recognized the shooter from a picture as his son. The son confessed to the father, a police officer and their minister. The FBI has no credit in the apprehension of the suspect other than showing a picture.

S. A. Linden's avatar

Well, they still are/were highly trained specialists who are generally honorable. That was my point. But I see yours too.

Sue W.'s avatar

With all asides, can Kash Express Patel please get his eyes fixed? When he's talking, I don't know if I should look out the window or look in the kitchen.

S. A. Linden's avatar

Thanks for giving me an opportunity to lay this out for you guys:

<https://www.borowitzreport.com/p/kash-patel-replaced-by-startled-deer>

Actually, I think I saw a Hindu god that had eyes like that. Maybe Kash, supposedly a Hindu, is trying to imitate the look?

Marlo's avatar

As FBI director, Kash Patel is suppose to be politically neutral and separate from religion. Very unprofessional and unqualified - as are Trump’s entire cabinet. How am I ever going to get through another 3 years and 3 months?! Ugh.

S. A. Linden's avatar

I finally figured something out. Kash thinks he's going to Valhalla, not the Christian heaven. Per Shaun King:

<https://www.thenorthstar.com/p/trumps-hindu-podcaster-turned-fbi>

That explains a lot about them. We're wondering why *anyone* who professes to be Christian would do the horrible, cruel things they do? It's all because they consider themselves Viking warriors [snort].

You don't have to be a practicing Christian to believe in what the Ten Commandments profess or the Sermon on the Mount. It's just kindness and don't hurt people. But "warriors" . . . ye gods.

Karen Shaw's avatar

Geoff Ireland's avatar

Aaron, we all appreciate your fairness and non partisanship. But to admit that over 90% of the political violence in the US is committed by the right is not prejudicial, it is merely stating a checkable and verifiable fact.

Heather's avatar

Still waiting on those Epstein files

Elliott Terri's avatar

Yes let’s refocus!

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

This is fake. Charlie Kirk was murdered by the state of Israel and Donald Trump. He was murdered because he was asking for the immediate release of the Epstein files in it’s totality. If the Epstein files are fully released than Israel will no longer be able to use what they have over everyone.

Alexander Toschi's avatar

Get your conspiracy theories out of here

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

You wanna know the best way that my “conspiracy theory” can be debunked? Release the fucking Epstein files.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

It’s really not. It’s basic pattern recognition. This is how it always goes down. He started a splinter away from the group by asking for the Epstein file to be released in totality and then a couple days later he’s dead. Some 22 year-old little boy who recently became politically active, is not going to be able to fucking pull off something like that.

Debra E. Brown's avatar

I had just finished listening to the press conference right before your post appeared on my phone. Thank you for clarifying and elaborating on the points glossed over in the press conference. I trust and appreciate you.

Alexander Toschi's avatar

A 22 year old, with years of shooting, can absolutely make a shot like that. First of all - 200 yards isn’t anything, anyone who shoots rifles will tell you that. Second of all, a neck shot isn’t ideal at all if you’re aiming for the center mass shot.

CK was a fierce defender of Israel, and all I’ve seen from Israeli content creators and sources have shown grief in losing an ideological ally.

Do better.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

Why do men think they’re so goddamn fucking original. It’s copy, cut, and fucking paste. Charlie Kirk had an enough influence to take down Donald Trump. Charlie Kirk has almost more influence than Donald Trump at this point because of the Christians that back him. Asking for the Epstein files in their totality and then being shot in the fucking whitest place after hand signals are made by his security And then he just Homer Simpsons out of the frame. It’s not fucking hard to see.

Juli Alvarez's avatar

100%. Just like everything surrounding trump and his political allies, nothing is as it seems. We need to keep an open mind. Does anyone really believe that the assassination attempt on trump was real? Why did that last exactly one news cycle? Everyone's up in arms now because the top white christian nationalist hate monger propagandist was shot dead. Let maga lose their minds over this. They love violence - it's their brand. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

Do better? I need to do better? I’ve spent the last 20 years learning everything I can about weak men because they have done everything in their lives to destroy everything beautiful in this world. I can see the basic pattern recognition and a 22 year-old child is not going to make a marksman shot. Guess what on top of having to study man? I also spent my entire life around fucking guns and that is not a shot that is going to be made by somebody unless they have intense training and unless that boy has multiple awards he ain’t making that fucking shot.

MM Harris's avatar

Actually, FBI and related experts repeatedly explained during the search that someone with moderate experience shooting COULD easily do what happened even at over 500 feet, given the appropriate siting equipment on the gun..

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

Why the fuck would I believe the FBI? I seen the shot that they claimed that the Harvey Oswald took too. I got eyes and I’ve been spent my whole life around guns. I literally grew up in a house that had over 100 guns in it as a child. I had a very ammo sexual parent. I grew up in this conservative world that is currently going on and I escaped. I know every step they’re fucking taking. That kid is the fall guy.

Pennie | Alchemy & Energy's avatar

Actually, I saw that the first news outlet to post about Kirk’s shooting was the Jerusalem Post. And that Netanyahu was tweeting condolences immediately. Does seem a bit odd. Not quite as odd as JFK’s assassination and ‘the Cambridge news tip-off’ before it even happened, but still odd.

*~Eli's avatar

It’s actually plausible. He was railing about the Epstein files, he suddenly out of nowhere reeked it in, then he was hit in what appears to be a professional sniper shot. None of it is outlandish.

Barbara Baldwin's avatar

Actually, why don’t YOU get the hell out of here you entitled a-hole.

james w fisher's avatar

This is what I think too . Israel needs a distraction to steal land and this is perfect

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

No. The Epstein files is what Israel is trying to stop from being released. Jeffrey Epstein is tied to Israel. We know this for a fact. Those files are what Israel has to continue to extort other countries for money and power. If those files get out everything explodes and they no longer have control over everything.

Pennie | Alchemy & Energy's avatar

And we can’t forget it was a great distraction to take attention off the Epstein files vote that happened yesterday — they voted NOT to release the files — narrow fail. :/

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

"The state of Israel"? please. Look, I know Netanyahu has spoken out about this lionizing Kirk but seriously ... it's just because Netanyahu is a bad person too.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

No, it’s because Israel is running an underground sex operation that they’ve been using to blackmail politicians to give them funding to continue their genocide and their takeover of the Middle East. It’s really that fucking simple and it’s been proven time and time again. Jeffrey Epstein is absolutely tied to Israel and so is his sex operation

Sue W.'s avatar

Pedophilia is a common entertainment in Israel. It isn't immoral there.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

It’s fucking immoral everywhere. Just because something is not illegal does not make it immoral.

Lauren K's avatar

Now you sound crazy like them. Just stop. There’s a lot of shitty things going on over the Middle East, but this is insanity.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

Why do I sound crazy like them? What sounds crazy is that there’s so many politicians supporting a fucking genocide. Are you gonna tell me that there’s that many corrupt politicians in the world who want to watch children die or they’re that many politicians that are willing to fuck children and have their photos taken so now they can’t fucking stand up for children. Sounds like you support genocide.

Lauren K's avatar

Sounds like I am not equating the genocide with Charlie Kirk. Two things can exist at one time and not have to do with each other.

S. A. Linden's avatar

Has anyone asked where you are getting this information? I for one would like to know the source material. It's only good journalism.

Lauren K's avatar

The state of Israel??? Wtf. Trump, maybe. But Israel lol. We can be pro-Palestine but also not sound crazy. Come on. Do better.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

Yes. How do you think Israel stays in power? They have videos on every prominent male politician. Those videos are of them sleeping with under age children. We know this from the ties of Jeffrey Epstein to Israel. They’ve actually found documents that linked them together.

Lauren K's avatar

Girl, we are on the same side politically and def don’t put it past Trump but your Israel crap has zero facts and has nothing to do with Kirk. It’s sounding MAGA and cuckoo. Let’s not be like them.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

Girl, we are not on the same side politically. You support Israel and I support the burning of our fucking system down to the ground and replacing it with a matriarchy. I don’t feel that men should ever be allowed to hold power again. You and I are not the same you want to continue within the compound of a system. That is completely fucking disgusting and I wanna start over again.

Lauren K's avatar

Wow this really went off the handle from one simple comment. to go from that to burn it all down? Lol

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

No I am just not dumb. When a system is doing what it was meant to do but we pretend that it’s broken. We he American government was never intended for us. It was based off a matriarchal system and bastardized into a way to keep the rich rich. Guess the system needs to be burned down and started over again. America has not special. Every countries fucking been through this. It’s time to cut off the weak men and make it so man can office anymore. A 100 year time out. Men can’t even vote. Stop pretending like this shit is working. We need more of these boys killing each other. Men are not meant to lead and it’s obvious because they use violence to remain in power.

Lauren K's avatar

I said nothing about supporting Israel whatsoever. You jumped to conclusions because I won’t go with your conspiracy theory that they had to do with his shooting. Because it’s ridiculous.

Geoff Ireland's avatar

Gee, are you sure this wasn't a conspiracy of GM workers against Hyundai for having better styling? What a twit.

Daniella Ferioli's avatar

No, I’m not mentally retarded. What I believe actually has facts that back it up. Also there is no conspiracy when it’s just racist people involved. Are you really that dumb?

JoAnn Britt's avatar

Why would Trump want to fast track this trial? Seems a little odd, unless he wants to bury this case ASAP

Danuta's avatar

WHY would the President be soooo involved in a private citizen’s killing? Why would he be on Fox propaganda talking about this 2 days later? Why was CK flown on Air Force 2? Why is he going to lie in State in the Capitol Rotunda? (Trump wants this). What’s the reason for the medal (highest one given to a civilian )?

RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES. We can’t take our foot off the pedal on this people!!!!

JoAnn Britt's avatar

J Frost's avatar

So a 22 year old pulled off a shot that career military sharpshooters might miss, huh…..

Bernnie Brandt's avatar

Basic trainees—mostly 18 or 19-year-olds—shoot targets at 300 yards with iron sights and must hit a certain number in order to graduate basic training. 200 yards from an undisturbed, prone position, with a magnified optic, on a clear day is light work for someone with a moderate amount of halfway-decent training or practice.

Toni's avatar

It looks like the family was into guns, if you look at the post about his "gun-toting" brother, so the suspect could have grown up shooting and become proficient. Right?

J Frost's avatar

So this kid had been in the military?

Bernnie Brandt's avatar

No clue, I'm just making a comparison. It's very easy to find outdoor civilian ranges that go up to 500 or even 1000 yards. If one is a hunter or just a shooting enthusiast, a 200 yard shot is not exceptionally difficult to practice. It's very likely he was going for a headshot, but a lack of formal training might have caused him to neglect to account for bullet drop—which would have been between 4 and 5 inches with a .30-06 rifle at that distance, which would explain why the shot hit the neck instead of the face.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Debating the minutiae of the shot is way to Daily Kosian for my taste. All those "expert" guys ...

Sharon Amos's avatar

Yes my husband is a hunter and hasn't done so in years but at the gun range he could take out some one in that "short" distance. And this kid isn't in his 70's.

Haleya Priest's avatar

Bernie thank you so much for explaining all of this.

Heather Barno's avatar

The kid was a sheriff’s deputy’s son, I’m sure he’s been shooting since he was a kid

J Frost's avatar

I just read that he lived in a mansion….

RUTH COSTELLO's avatar

He has been shooting since he was eight. Plenty of practice.

J Frost's avatar

He’d have been far better off with a different pastime then. Very difficult to wrap the head around such a childhood.

Randy's avatar

Look at guy next to him, looks like it came from there, also how many others were there in this.

J Frost's avatar

I’m remembering the poor magat kid the secret service shot after the “ ear “ incident.

Ryland Marris's avatar

Hey Jack..you obviously have never fired a weapon more than a few times. You do realize you get better with practice? Or is that why you’re still single?

Carmen Lezeth's avatar

Such a crass response. The nastiness in tone - not sure it was necessary here.

Ale G.'s avatar

So, the insults begin because you are better? You need to handle yourself better. Do better. Be better. Don’t be trump.

Alisha Rosales's avatar

I'm no marksman but with the right gun and sight I could hit a target from that distance. I have hit targets with extreme accuracy at that distance. For reference I've been shooting (target shooting only, no hunting, etc) maybe a dozen times in my life. The range I vidit is outdoor and has targets at all distances. Now I couldn't hit a person, I'm sure my nerves and morality would never let me assassinate someone and id miss if I even got the shot off, but it is possible that someone raised with guns and had a moderate amount of practice could do this.

Merima Trako's avatar

I don't understand. If his name is Tyler, why is the alleged mother calling him Austin? Is this his middle name? Or is this just a wrong picture?

That was a mistake that's since been fixed. She was referring to his brother, not him.

J Mac's avatar

Thank you, I don’t get that either.

Randy's avatar

Look at all that happened not just a 22 yr old

Katharine's avatar

I think it’s a sibling, because the age range is off too — if he turned 16 in 2021, how is he 22 now?

Katharine's avatar

Or not related at all! Robinson is a common name.

MM Harris's avatar

the reference is to the brother and was an accident

Eric's avatar

What a divided country we live in.

If MLK was assassinated in present day, would there be a resolution to have him lion state at the capital I think not.

Would the children killed an hour after Charlie Kirk was murdered get a ride on Air Force two I think not.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Did Melissa Hortman, an actual elected official, lie in state when she was targeted by a political extremist?

Eric's avatar

The governor, the normal politician Tim Walz had her lie state at the state capital

Cathy Delia's avatar

I didn't listen to Charlie Kirk, but in one of the snippets I've seen since his death he says that MLK was an awful person, so you're right, I don't think they would let his body anywhere near the Capitol.

Trump blaming the left is baseless but not surprising, if anything the left is anti gun and non violent. Him politicizing this down right wrong and does nothing to deescalate the situation. Right now what the country needs is a moment to 1) reflect how this has gotten so out of hand to the point someone was killed (and for the record I disagreed with Kirk on everything) and 2) finally put meaningful gun prevention laws and background checks in place.

Tricia Auld's avatar

He doesn’t want to de-escalate the situation, he wants to inflame it. He stokes the flames as always. He is desperate for violence so he can declare martial law, stop the elections and stay in power. He is an evil POS.

Jbstr25's avatar

I understand and don’t disagree with you, but to fight his rhetoric with violence isn’t the answer. I am of the opinion that if we take a united stand of non-violence it will expose his politicalization of the issue. If we as the left continue to polarize the right, we are hurting the country in the long run.

Tricia Auld's avatar

I was in no way advocating violence.

Jbstr25's avatar

No I know that and I apologize to you if that’s what you thought I meant by my comment. I was more stating an opinion in general terms.

Tricia Auld's avatar

Thanks. I hope he is exposed, for all of his atrocities.

Jbstr25's avatar

If history tells us anything he will expose himself like so many others before him. He is not unique if anything he’s unoriginal.

Sue W.'s avatar

Joseph, it's all about $$$$$. Politicians are for sale, to anyone with enough money.

Jbstr25's avatar

Well that’s why it’s important we support candidates that run “grass roots campaigns” than those supported by PACs. Take Susan Collins for example. She is bought and paid for and continues to vote against what would benefit her community. She’s running against a lobster fisherman named Graham Platner. People need to through there support behind someone like that or continue to support people who Sanders endorses to get real change.

MM Harris's avatar

He doesn't WANT peace within this country. He wants us all riled up and angry at each other, because things like this shooting are not only a convenient diversion from the epstein situation, they will give him an excuse to declare martial law... and maybe even to cancel the 2026 election

Jbstr25's avatar

Absolutely which is why we can’t give him what he wants. The Republican Party will dismantle itself as the ideals they stand on are flawed.

Jbstr25's avatar

And my opinion on why I think they are flawed:

1) A blatant disregard for the rights of minorities and immigrants

2) Vilifying hardworking individuals who are undocumented, not because they choose to be, but because our immigration system is flawed and broken

3) Targeting vulnerable communities, such as the LGBTQ+, trying to paint them as villains

4) Rolling out policies that hurt hard-working Americans, such as the Big Beautiful Bill

5) Lack of gun control laws, which threaten our everyday lives

6) Weaponizing free speech, spreading disinformation, and trying to discourage those who speak out in fear of retribution

7) An inability to tax the richest 1% of Americans, who, by taxing, would actually finance the social reforms needed

8) Rolling back policies that date as far back as FDR, which helped our Country reach a level of prosperity post WWII

9) Weaponizing Christianity in a nation where the very first amendment states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion".

Additionally, again my opinion is that any group that attempts to control it's population is at its basis flawed, as control is only an illusion and the need for control is brittle at its essence.

Dominic's avatar

What happened with DJT at the 9/11 memorial?

Tracy's avatar

he was looking extremely presidential— falling asleep as they were reading the names, so embarrassing for Americans

Dominic's avatar

A transient ischemic attach or a thrombosis that passes and causes stroke symptoms but the thrombosis then passes and the symptoms resolve

Tracy's avatar

curious how the administration will react since he blamed the left from the beginning. we have a HUGE problem in this version of America

Dominic's avatar

Im talking about his facial droop! Im an EMT and coupled with his venous decease it SCREAMS stroke or TIA

The Double Portion's avatar

What's TIA?

Stroke is immediately what I thought when I saw the video. My dad suffered a stroke and I'll never forget that look...

John's avatar

Dude I am a paramedic and been one for over 25 yrs. That was not a stroke. That was a bullet that had pierced his jugular and carotid and he bleed out. Nothing and I mean nothing screams stroke.

Dominic's avatar

Dude look at the first comment in the thread, then look up a picture of trump at the 9/11 memorial and see the obvious R sided deficits

RobinW's avatar

He fell asleep in his chair again.

One less hate spewing person in the world. Not saying it’s right, but karma is real. Put out what you want back.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

No one deserves to be killed. But Kirk was no kind of hero.

Brian Moore Oles's avatar

Karma is a fairytale. Just as heaven and hell are. If you really believe in Karma, explain the mechanism by which it works. Who is in charge of overseeing it? Or is it magic? Whose magic?

Most of us do not get what we deserve.

I could list people here who lived horrid lives who were never held to account. Do you think Hitler, for instance, got what he deserved? I don't.

To personalize it: I lovingly cared for a foster daughter who was multiply and severely challenged as well as neglected and abused by her birth family, for 10 years. More recently, I cared for my mother, who had Alzheimer's, for 7 years, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. My Karma since holding Mom while she died is a severe case of Complex PTSD, an electric near-constant sense of fear, and poverty. Karma indeed!

Thank you for this update - there's a lot of good info in here.

And Major Shame on The Wall Street Journal for spreading trans lies 🤬🤬

Dump has already called for the death penalty. How can this kid get a fair trial?

Schere's avatar

Ummm just like he did the Central Park 5 took out newspaper ads calling for the death penalty then when they were proven innocent refused to apologize or take it back so it's gonna be interesting to see how this plays out since this young man looks like him..

Anne Lockwood's avatar

Fair Trials are another American myth.

MM Harris's avatar

Utah's Governor Cox had said the same thing back during the search. I was surprised to hear that. He seems to be an even-tempered, reasonable man. In 2023, as the head of the National Governors Assoc, he launched, & has since been active in, a program called "Disagree Better", which promotes reasonable, calm discussion between people who have different ideas or positions. But perhaps Colorado has the death penalty and he's obligated to upholding the law??

Punkette's avatar

Just learned that Utah has the death penalty.

Vicki Floyd's avatar

He’s just a kid. I hate this for everyone involved - from the Kirks to the Robinsons. It’s all just a terrible tragedy.
