Why is there no arrest for noncompliance with court orders?

Peter Tey's avatar

continue___US Marshals are under jurisdiction of DOJ , Attorney General, who will never allow them to act under this regime

Diane Kempf's avatar

Well this is insane. Then if there's no one with authority over POTUS, why even take these cases to court? He's just doing what he wants with no interference. ?????

Faith Johnston's avatar

Completely agree the β€œ other two branches” of our government are completely useless in combatting this ruthless corruption

Margaret B's avatar

That's what POTUS figures. Worst case where we still win, courts document everything, generals have had enough, and, perhaps in consultation with key Democrats in Congress and some in the Supreme Court - the ones who are trying to uphold the Constitution - the generals take temporary control. Not sure what would happen next though. (Or blue states de-federalize National Guard as needed and secede or join Canada. I don't expect that before 2026 elections if at all.) I'm sure the ICE army was created in part to protect the dictatorship, but when faced with real military, I expect many to desert.

Or Congress has enough (pressured by We The People) and impeaches some Supreme Court justices along with Trump and Vance. That's the way it ought to work. Expose everything and we may see deep rifts in MAGA and MAGA Congress. We need 67% of the Senate to get Trump removed after the House votes for impeachment. I still think this is possible, not immediately, but if we keep working on it.

Elections will matter no matter what happens between now and then. Get to know who handles elections in your state and make sure they are good people. Also help people vote in 2026 and work to keep elections systems honest. (I'm not convinced Trump won in 2024, but 2026 might have even more funny business unless we can expose it, ideally in advance.)

Then when we finally regain control, we have lots more work to do to fix things.

Jane Docken's avatar

And if Trump is impeached, Vance goes also. But then we need to have control of the House so Jeffries or whomever (but never Johnson) would be the next in line.

Peter Tey's avatar

Good iseas, but I can't judge.I am not a lawyer

Peter Tey's avatar

YES, IT IS INSANE

C Mann's avatar

who could or would actually arrest a president? Glad we still can vote... he may thieve to win.

Michela A. C.'s avatar

pam bondage first met trump at the age of 13 at an epstein party. she's been groomed so she is never going to go against her master.

Tammy K. Hutchins, Esq.'s avatar

Can you tell me where you found that info? I'm not disagreeing with the absolute political hellscape that is happening due to our Rapist-In-Thief and his authoritarian regime. I just wanted to check the fact so more of this makes sense. I just don't know why he has these "allies" who are willing to betray the law, the courts, and any morals they may have left.

Thank you so much!

Peter Tey's avatar

What I know, judges can issue a "contempt of court" and the have Us Marshals make an arrest. BUT US MARSHALS are under the jurisdictio

Lynette Mason's avatar

To answer your question, Aaron, you are doing plenty. I like it when you interview political figures, too. Just save some time for yourself.

Tara Batin's avatar

Right? Its not like this is the first time he has defied a Judge's Orders. He blatantly defies orders

Ruth Cruz's avatar

Yeah exactly so did he lay down any consequences if he doesn’t? Well he’s adhering to his oath. Thing would be if he pays it late will they still prosecute him as he’s spitting on the judicial system.

Mark's avatar

Because the Spreme Court are idiots

Steve Nelson's avatar

Other government officials can be held in contempt, though

C Mann's avatar

what is done generally with us common citizens if we do not comply?

Kathy Porter Washington's avatar

They done stole the money

Donna's avatar

More videos of interviews for example, on Capitol Hill. Great work!!

Kayleigh Williams's avatar

Don't ever apologize, Aaron. I may not be able to speak for all of us, but I am personally so thankful for your truthful reporting and the hard work you are doing during these trying times!

Claire's avatar

You do speak for all of us!!!

Vices in My Head's avatar

Appreciate you, Aaron.

HerHolyGrizzle's avatar

Thank you!!!!! And yayyyyy for the sammich guy!

Kathryn's avatar

No worries. @AaronParnas. That's great news -- just wonder how quickly that time-line will be.

RM Cavallo's avatar

How much taxpayer money did wine box enthusiast β€œJudge” Jeanine Pirro waste impaneling a trial jury for a misdemeanor case, which she downgraded after failing to secure a grand jury felony indictment?

Wendy's avatar

That’s what I’d like to know about *many* of these trials, not to mention the repeated involvement of multiple courts ordering Trump or other government officials to do this or that (or *not* do it) that they should have done/not done in the first place - and then trying to force them to comply when they ignore the first orders.

David Katz's avatar

Thank you for your reporting. I don’t know how you are able to do it so quickly, and I don’t know how you find the time to do it all. Do you ever sleep?

Amy's avatar

At what point does Trump’s behavior pierce the veil of his immunity for official acts? I can’t imagine blatantly defying a court order would be considered an official act in his job as president!

Get a loan from Argentina?????

Margaret B's avatar

Elon Musk could provide the loan. Or Peter Thiel. I'm sure their interest rates would be criminal.

@Aaron Parnas You asked if there is anything else we’d like you to do. Personally I think you are doing enough. In fact sometimes I worry you are doing too much and will burn yourself out! You have created a niche for yourself. More would dilute that. I’d say carry on as you are. You tell the news and explain important implications. That’s great! . Only advice I could give is to make sure you keep shining a light on the most important stuff. Some of us are a little obsessed with staying informed at the moment and I worry at some point we’ll all hit overload 🀯 But certain things need our attention (such as SNAP). Your style is calm and measured so again more or different would probably ruin that balance you’ve got going for you!

Kolokia's avatar

I love exactly how you do things. These short news updates are awesome. I check my email to see if there is anything from you at least 3 times a day. The fact that you bring us "breaking news" is something that no one else is doing, at least no one else worth listening to. ;) You are IMPORTANT... and have found your groove. Please just make sure to take time off once in a while (even if just a few hours at a time) to do things that regenerate you. You are deeply, deeply appreciated.

Sylvia Arrowood's avatar

Are you kidding me? You are amazing Aaron. Don't apologize.

Nancy Williams's avatar

Aaron, you are always up to the minute with the latest news.

Carole W's avatar

You said Supreme Court decision about Tariffs is not til June!?!? Can’t that be fast tracked??

Rob Bennett's avatar

From what I've seen with other independent journalists, some of which have done legal background like Aaron, since thus was a special day hearing that they could rule as early as the end of the year. But this is no normal SCOTUS.

Andrea Garcia's avatar

What about what is going on on Sudan

Erin Michaela Brandt's avatar

Pleas more of: political good news, and more pro-choice/ anti-choice updates like from Jessica Valenti on β€œAbortion, Every Day”. They are CRUCIAL!

Felicia donahue's avatar

It’s cool take care of you so u can continue to report the New

Dianne K's avatar

And what will be done to him? He always gets away with telling the courts to fuck off.

Maria K.'s avatar

I want to know too! I appreciate what the judges are doing - they are very brave. BUT, we all know at this point, that HE DOESN'T CARE. So, this won't get people fed, unless there are measurable, tangible consequences to Trump, personally.

Jumajaju11's avatar

He thinks he's untouchable. He needs to be shown that he's not, that he should be held to the same standards as everyone else. I highly doubt it'll happen though. πŸ˜’

P. Howard's avatar

SCOTUS gave Trump immunity which means he can do whatever he wants without consequences. SCOTUS need to remove his immunity. But they are too scared to and they support it.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

Contempt is what he’s guilty of. He thinks he’s above the law, you know.

Wendy's avatar

He basically *is* above the law for any actions he takes that are even remotely related to his job as president, thanks to SCOTUS giving him immunity last year.

Even if appeals should reach them, they probably couldn’t even enforce any decision against him that *they* might (in)conceivably make without removing the immunity. Even that might have to happen *before* he might take whatever action would be in dispute.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

Granting the conman immunity is a scary thought. You are correct. I remember the Supreme Court’s opinion.

Maura's avatar

With immunity to him by SCOTUS, he is above the law. The Supreme Court has made him a king.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

You are so right, that’s exactly what SCOTUS has done. Now they have to try to rein the monster back in. He is nothing but an evil SOB!

Maura's avatar

I agree with you wholeheartedly!

Skitealwedrop's avatar

This whole SNAP situation is pure evil. There are many people in this country that rely on SNAP. He doesn’t care if our neighbors or our Seniors eat. SMDH Biden would have never done something so evil to our Country.

Marsha Sipple's avatar

That's my question. He has immunity and just laughs and thumbs his nose when he's told to do the right thing. Can't the Supreme Court take away his immunity? Sorry, dumb question of course they won't. He owns them.

Dianne K's avatar

I asked about taking away his immunity. A long, drawn out process that requires way too much work and hearings. But hey, a simple nod and wink, will get you exactly what you want. I keep wondering which SCOTUS are in the Epstein files. Blackmail can be a powerful tool. β€œGive me full immunity, or else…”

Candace Lucas's avatar

i wonder how many justices are in the Epstein files.

Common sense's avatar

It’s time the Judge deputizes Marshall’s to do what the Justice Dept will not do. I’m sure there are some military veterans or contractors out there that still want to see our country survive this mess. Deputize an entire army of them and go over to the WH and arrest him, the enablers in the army bases (Miller, Noem, and Vought) and lock them up. It’s time for this shit show to end, just in time for Thanksgiving!

Maryann Stone's avatar

Since he has immunity, arrest all the enablers. With no one (or maybe diminishing numbers of enablers) to do his bidding, it will slow him down. Maybe also sue SCOTUS to overturn their ruling? Probably a long shot, though.

Carol Staats's avatar

Agreeβ€™πŸ‘πŸ˜

sweetpea's avatar

I love that! A dream come true!

Wendy's avatar

That would be lovely, but I think that only SCOTUS can order the marshalls to do thing, isn’t it? Can any other federal court do so?

Even if a court below SCOTUS did manage to get him carted off to jail, SCOTUS would just reverse it immediately, and order him released. Then, of course, he would sue the pants off of anyone involved, and likely win outright because of the immunity order, but certainly once appealed to SCOTUS.

The only way any sort of legal action against him would have any chance of getting him arrested would be if he did something criminal in his personal life, like, say, cheat on his taxes.

Oh, wait, even that, somehow wouldn’t do it 🀨

OK, so only if he were to do something else like beat someone up over an interpersonal mattered. Or rape someone.

Kat Pan's avatar

If the US Marshall's do go the the WH as you suggest you forget that the secret service will step in to prevent that from happening since they are charged with protecting him.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

That sounds wonderful.

Beth Moore's avatar

Trump may have immunity, but his administration doesn't. Start arresting high ranking staff for contempt!

Deb Fyfe's avatar

That's an excellent idea! Now if we could just get someone with some authority to follow through and do that...

Kat Pan's avatar

Yeah. Work from the outside in and arrest those appointees who have broken the laws that trump ordered. Start with Noem, then go from there.

Kat Pan's avatar

Who do think would start the process?

Daronda J Toole's avatar

Wont Trump just pardon them like he does all crooks?

Laura Po's avatar

Agreed. So despite post election celebration let’s not assume our situation has changed too much. President Madman has his foot on the gas and seems willing to take us all with him off the cliff.

Wendy's avatar

β€œWilling”? That seems to be his actual *goal.*

Laura Po's avatar

You’re right.

Deb Fyfe's avatar

Exactly! Nothing happens to him and nothing changes. Americans out here trying to teach our kids that actions have consequences.. and the president receiving no consequences!

The Sweet Stack's avatar

So happy the Sandwich guy is free.

Scott Gilmour's avatar

Let me know when this administration goes a whole day without breaking a new law.

J Col's avatar

I been waiting on this the entire time

Pamela Fender's avatar

You’re doing an incredible job.Aaron. No changes.

Beth Moore's avatar

Don't hold your breath.

Marc Panaye's avatar

Dear Scott, I think that drump's crowd is running out of laws to break........ little M. Johnson must quickly go back to work so that he can give his master some more new laws to break.

Ryan Freedman's avatar

So don’t people usually get locked up for contempt of court? It he isn’t then why should any of us?

Kilroy's avatar

Yes, and typically also a monetary sanction. The issue is that the Federal Court's order enforcement arm is the US Marshals Service, and that organization is a part of US Attorney Pamela Bondi's DOJ. What are the odds AG Bondi would order the Marshals to arrest Trump? And that ignores the fact that Chief Justice Roberts and the 5 Supremes gave Trump immunity for criminal acts while President.

Maryann Stone's avatar

Then arrest Bondi.

Peter Tey's avatar

US Marshals can arrest, but they work under the Attorney General, and you know she will never allow them

Becky Suchy's avatar

Because his corrupt Supreme Court gave him immunity.

C. Walker's avatar

I think your right πŸ¦‹

Moonie Turtletoes's avatar

Duh. And he’ll ignore this one too.

Alexander Irving's avatar

Shocking! Trump is ignoring court orders? Violating the law!? What law? He’s the law.

Please take your country back

Laura N's avatar

Won’t matter. They’ll say do it. He won’t. They’ll say we told you to do this. He’ll ignore them. Zero consequences.

@Aaron Parnas:

To borrow your own words - That is why independent journalism matters. The Epstein Files cover-up conspiracy rolls on and the administration celebrates every day that the media writes about other things.

The media has seemingly forgotten about this entirely.

Enough! The victims deserve justice and the world deserves to know the full truth. Only when it is forced into the open will Congress seriously consider walking away from this vile administration and set in motion the possibility of impeachment and removal.

*You ask your readers for $ with every post you publish. Why can't you also report on this vile cover-up conspiracy that is more damaging and depraved than anything that went on during Watergate with every post that you publish instead of aiding the administration in their scheme to distract the media and world by flooding the zone with garbage to make everyone forget about the Epstein files cover-up conspiracy?

*If TikTok is censoring your reporting on the Epstein Files cover-up conspiracy, why aren't you including a daily bullet point on it in your own Substack, which no one can censor?

*If you continue to post multiple updates daily without including a daily running tally of how long this administration has orchestrated a vile cover-up conspiracy on the Epstein Files then you are falling right into their distract the media trap by not keeping it in the discourse constantly, as it must be.

To that end, helping you out here with critical data on the Epstein Files cover-up conspiracy:

IT HAS BEEN 290 DAYS SINCE THE INAUGURATION. 290 DAYS THAT THE EPSTEIN FILES HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED IN THEIR ENTIRETY FOR THE PUBLIC TO READ AND INTERPRET FOR THEMSELVES. 290 DAYS OF A MASSIVE COVER-UP CONSPIRACY INVOLVING THE ILLEGAL EXPLOITATION OF UNDERAGE PEOPLE BY POWERFUL INDIVIDUALS IN, OR ADJACENT TO, GOVERNMENT.

What could possibly be more important?

@Aaron Parnas - please be a trailblazer and take it from here, daily. We do look to you, and expect you, to include essential information on issues critical for the public to be aware of daily.

We are waiting.
