Awwww poor little TACO!!! 🌮 GREAT NEWS!

Barbara Dillard's avatar

Great news. The Tariffs are illegal and now this this is great news.

Terry's avatar

Federal Appeals Court reinstated those tariffs. It's like watching volleyball.

Barbara Dillard's avatar

Oh my God, did they get paid?

Terry's avatar

In Reuters. My own misspelling drives me bonkers.

Terry's avatar

I don't know what their reasoning was. It was a 3 judge panel. It makes my head hurt trying to understand all this. trump was ready to defy the lower court. I read this is Reuters.

https://www.reuters.com/business/us-ruling-that-trump-tariffs-are-unlawful-stirs-relief-uncertainty-2025-05-29/

Barbara Dillard's avatar

Can they ever follow through when they have a decision?

Terry's avatar

No. I heard tonight trump has changed his mind on the tariffs he's imposed over 50 times. lol He's an asshole.

Barbara Dillard's avatar

Well, they said yesterday that his tariffs were illegal and they stopped them. Now today they’re back on. How much did they get paid?

Amanda Sheehan's avatar

🙌🏾 that’s great! But I have to be honest, if I was an international student, I would not want to come here for school considering how this administration has been treating non-white counterparts. I would literally choose anywhere else in the world to go to school. My cousin was supposed to come here from Trinidad do her masters and she’s not coming anymore.

Amanda Sheehan's avatar

A win is a win though! We need to take any positivity we can get these days ✊🏾

Donald Trump is ruining this country in ways not even imagined

Esterterrestrial's avatar

and the magamorons who know nothing about politics are so excited.

Terry's avatar

Maga morons are uneducated, misinformed and uninformed, yet stand full chested, 10 toes down arguing with you. Then scream you're crying and how they love lib tears. They're simply showing how uneducated they are. Or misinformed. Or uninformed. Guy last night had no clue that Linda McMahon talked about A1 instead of AI.

'in ways nobody has even seen before'

I agree. It's a terrifying time for any non-white person in radical-right America (immigrant or not). I am advising people not to come into our country right now, too. It's not safe. BUT this is a WIN for higher education, so I celebrate Harvard's courage and the judge's decision. I hate what Chump is doing to our country, and I'm so sorry for your cousin, but I do agree she shouldn't come here right now. It's too scary.

Amanda Sheehan's avatar

You’re so right, it’s not safe at all. But totally a win for higher education and I’m so grateful they’re pushing forward and standing up to him and this regime. I’m hoping she’ll be able to come here one day. Her boyfriend is actually from Maryland but lives in Trinidad with her so 🤞🏾 one day we’ll look back at this scary time as a piece of history and not our new normal. But for now, the fight continues

silversprings62's avatar

That’s really sad to hear. I’m sure there are many others like you who feel the same.

Amanda Sheehan's avatar

I know my family is just too scared for something to happen to her so she’ll probably go to Canada instead because we also have family there. And it sucks because that’s tuition that the US is losing also

Debbie J 🇨🇦's avatar

Canada is great for higher education. She'll get a fabulous education and won't have to stress about her safety.

My daughter graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in science and nursing. Great experience for her. As a parent I was very impressed with the campus, the level of care and class choice.

Deandra MacMillan's avatar

I think it’s more important that current students are allowed to stay and finish their programs. I wouldn’t come here from another country for any reason right now.

Janice Darling's avatar

I am sorry for the worry that this causes international students. They should have every right to apply and come, if accepted. We welcome their addition to the culture and outlook of the university and the city.

This is a huge black eye on America’s soul😵‍💫😞😪😭💔‼️

The nod to Legally Blonde was priceless 😂 But seriously, thanks for bringing us alllll the breaking news.

My thought exactly! Legally Blonde ;-)

DT is such a baby! stop and work on the economy for chrissakes!

Fred Sobotincic's avatar

Melanie, my opinion, better for all of us if Donald Trump leaves the economy alone,

Dorothy's avatar

The Felon in Chief is not a baby, but a monster who wants to be dictator and who emulates Hitler in many ways.

The Trump administration questions "the value of foreign influence on American higher education." They're completely missing the point! Educating foreign students is our country's opportunity to influence the lives of students. Those who return to their countries of origin will bring new ideas and perspectives to others in a form of "soft diplomacy."

David's avatar

Ann,unfortunately Trump does not have the mental capacity to understand that.Remember he lies 92% of the time, was a D student @ Penn.Has had 6 bankruptcies,15 business failures.he is a total loser with a big mouth and no morals.

Claire's avatar

It seems we are finally getting some major push back happening!

Thanks again, Aaron, for keeping us up to date!

Annagail McGuire's avatar

Another loss for Trump = another win for us.

I wonder how those other schools that bent the knee are feeling now? Go Harvard!

Wanda's avatar

Yay! Way to go Harvard you inspire America!🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Stand with Harvard

Dennis McAtee's avatar

What about MIT capitulating on its DEI program?

Mel's avatar

They should've stood beside Harvard. 😡

Dennis McAtee's avatar

Didn’t MIT learn anything from Columbia, the law firms that resisted and the Judicial System (not SCOTUS)?

Maureen's avatar

Totally disappointed. MIT is as prestigious as Harvard and its lawyers would have conquered in court.

Dennis McAtee's avatar

At least now people know how Red or chicken the admin is.

David's avatar

Disgusting, why, they should have stood with Harvard.

Julie Tallard Johnson's avatar

This brought tears of relief to me. And, it is sad that this has to be an issue of course. This all may make us stronger (in the end). If we make it to the end (of trump regime).

Ms.Barry Norman's avatar

Good, I'm so glad Harvard won!
