Good evening! Today is March 26th, and here’s your evening news rundown. Before I jump in—I want to say thank you. My work isn’t backed by billionaires or ad companies; it’s funded by you. Please consider becoming a paid subscriber today.

With that, here is all the news you missed:

  • A divided federal appeals court has upheld a temporary block on Donald Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to rapidly deport alleged members of a Venezuelan gang. The DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 that two lower-court orders preventing Trump from using the wartime authority will remain in place while the legal challenge to his invocation of the law continues.

  • On Wednesday, President Donald Trump will announce tariffs on auto imports. The White House claims this move will encourage domestic manufacturing, though it could also financially pressure automakers that rely on global supply chains. As a result, the markets closed lower.

  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene used a DOGE subcommittee hearing to demand the defunding and dismantling of the company that provides federal funds to NPR and PBS.

  • NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that four U.S. soldiers who went missing in Lithuania have been found dead. According to the Lithuanian Armed Forces, the soldiers and one tracked vehicle went missing during an exercise at a training ground in Lithuania. A Lithuanian Armed Forces-led rescue operation remained underway.

  • The Trump Administration abruptly canceled over $12 billion in federal grants for state health services, cutting funding for infectious disease tracking, mental health care, addiction treatment, and other critical programs.

  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told a British reporter, "Alright, we don’t care about your opinion or your report. Why don’t you just go back to your country?"

  • The founder of Signal said, “There are so many great reasons to be on Signal. Now including the opportunity for the vice president of the United States of America to randomly add you to a group chat for coordination of sensitive military operations.”

  • Judge Howell dismissed the Trump administration's motion to disqualify her from the Perkins Coie case, describing the attack as "ad hominem" and an attempt to divert attention from its own weak legal arguments.

  • The Supreme Court just upheld the Biden administration's regulation requiring ghost gun kits to have serial numbers and mandating background checks for buyers.

  • According to STRATCOM, Iran has shortened the time required to produce weapons-grade uranium for a nuclear device to under a week, down from 10-15 days.

  • Trump revives his interest in acquiring Greenland, now framing it as essential for U.S. international security and Arctic strategic dominance.

See you in the morning.
