I just got off the phone with Ezra Levin, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of Indivisible, who confirmed some significant developments ahead of next weekend’s nationwide mobilizations. According to Levin, more than 1,600 protests are officially planned across the country for what organizers are calling No Kings Day, a sweeping national action pushing back against authoritarianism and executive overreach.

This surge in civic action comes on the heels of the April 5th “Hands Off” protests, which drew approximately 3.5 million participants. Levin says Indivisible is expecting even greater turnout this time.

The numbers alone are striking. They point to a growing, decentralized movement that’s drawing people out of their homes and into the streets in cities, towns, and communities across the United States. Indivisible, which has been a major force in progressive organizing since the Trump era, is helping coordinate this effort at a time when many feel the country is at a critical inflection point.

Many readers have reached out asking how to participate or find more information. Details, including protest locations, organizing toolkits, and messaging guidance, are available at www.nokings.org.

What’s equally important is what isn’t happening: widespread coverage of this movement in national media. Despite the scale of these demonstrations, many outlets have chosen to look away — or simply fail to grasp the scale and seriousness of the civic energy underway.

This newsletter exists to help correct that imbalance. I will continue to report on these efforts, to speak directly with organizers, and to make sure these stories are seen and heard — even when others don’t cover them.

Next weekend will matter. And I’ll be watching closely.
