My sister has been laid off for a year. She worked internationally for years, since she graduated college. Her boss was in France, as she was managed a major company who deals with a new aluminum alloy with international trade dealing while Biden helped by dropping that tariff to help make it cheaper to het here minus the tariffs. Now Trump renewed the tariffs; one wants to hire Americans. She could have moved overseas as she speaks French. But, she didn’t want to take my nieces away from family.
It’s a specific type of work. Many ppl like her, are looking for work. At 38, she was hoping to keep moving up, she was one of 4 people over the US here. What she’s known since she graduated from LSU. She is an engineer; yet…a year out. While aluminum has had layoffs on our state; and closures due to closures.
I am trying to look at a long game time and again; and I don’t see anything that could make this work.
All of these FBI agents who have been laid off, still can’t find work. Who probably have student loans, with bills etc.
credit cards aren’t getting paid. Ppl will hold on to their cars and homes, before paying certain bills. Which will cost Americans more in the long run. Credit card interest rates are going by the percentage of debt they need us; who pay our bills, to cover for the ones who can’t.
I have lost my bonuses, bc it’s better than laying me off. But, I feel it too. No one is buying homes. We even stress to ppl not to refi right now. We would rather not have a customer, than to see them lose their home.
