Tonight, as I was winding down for bed, casually watching 60 Minutes, I heard something that made me sit up straight — heart pounding, mind racing.

As you may have heard, Bill Owens, the former Executive Producer of 60 Minutes, resigned this past week. Owens cited the loss of his journalistic independence as the reason. At the time, that was deeply troubling. Now, it’s downright terrifying.

Now more than ever journalism is under attack. Consider subscribing to support my work as I fight back and pursue the truth no matter what.

In a closing statement tonight, 60 Minutes addressed Owens' departure with a shocking admission:

"Our parent company, Paramount, is trying to complete a merger. The Trump administration must approve it. Paramount began to supervise our content in new ways."

Read that again. Let it sink in.

This isn't just some corporate restructuring. This is political interference — blatant, unapologetic, and chilling. The Trump administration has positioned itself as the gatekeeper to Paramount’s future business interests, and Paramount, in turn, has taken a heavier hand over the editorial content at one of the most respected news programs in American history.

In simpler terms: the Trump administration is actively suppressing journalism.
They are trading free press for corporate favor.
They are silencing those who dare to report without fear or favor.

And if 60 Minutes — with all its prestige, legacy, and audience — can be strong-armed like this, what does that mean for the smaller outlets? For independent reporters? For truth itself?

I won't be silenced.
I don't have a massive parent company twisting my arm.
I don't answer to shareholders or politicians.
I answer to you — my readers, my community, the people who still believe that facts matter.

Now is the time to stand with independent journalism.
Because it's only getting worse from here.

We need to build the platforms that can't be bought.
We need to support the voices that won't be bullied.
We need to demand better — while we still can.

Stay vigilant. Stay loud. Stay free.
