As an Independent Journalist, I Will Relentlessly Hold the Trump Administration Accountable
After January 20, 2025, the Trump administration escalated its war on the media, intensifying efforts to control the narrative and silence critical voices. The White House’s consistent pattern of targeting journalists became even more blatant, with officials regularly denigrating reputable media outlets and labeling any reporting that questioned their policies as "fake news." It went so far as to bar the Associated Press from the Oval Office and Air Force One. Now, the AP is fighting back.
Today’s legal action by the Associated Press is not just a defense of press freedoms but a clear message that no one, no matter their position of power, is above scrutiny. Their willingness to stand firm in the face of adversity demonstrates the crucial role the media plays in upholding democracy, ensuring that government officials are held accountable for their actions.
As an independent journalist, I wholeheartedly stand with the Associated Press in their pursuit of justice and truth. The Trump administration’s attempt to silence and restrict journalists is a direct threat to the foundation of our democracy, and it is more important than ever that we, as a collective force in the media, continue to push back. I am ready to join in this fight, ensuring that those in power are held accountable for their actions, and that the public’s right to access information remains protected. The work of the AP is a beacon of hope for the future of journalism, and I stand ready to support their efforts to hold the Trump administration accountable for its attacks on the press.
I make this pledge to you: I will never normalize Donald Trump, JD Vance, or the policies of their incoming administration. As an independent journalist, my role is to present the facts as they are and hold those in political power accountable. My mission goes beyond just reporting the news—it's about digging for the unvarnished truth, no matter what happens today or in the next four years.
My commitment to you will remain steadfast. Since my work is published on Substack, it remains free from the control of any billionaire. I retain full editorial control, now and always. If you believe in supporting independent journalism, click the button below to become a paid subscriber:
Now that I am moving to do this work full-time, here is what you should expect if you are a free subscriber versus a paid subscriber. One of my biggest pet peeves growing up was having to pay to get around a paywall for news. That’s why none of the news I provide you will ever be behind a paywall.
Free Subscribers:
You will get access to two daily news rundowns, one in the morning and one in the evening. The morning rundown will be released by 10:00 AM EST on the weekdays and by noon on the weekends. The evening rundown will be released by 5:30 PM EST on the weekdays and by 6:30 PM EST on thew weekends.
These rundowns will be in both video and text form. Traditionally, they will be full video updates with a bullet point list of the news I cover. If I am traveling, like I am today, the video updates will likely be text-only.
Paid Subscribers:
You will get access to all of the perks of a free subscriber, but you will also get special access to paid-subscriber only lives with me. The goal will be to host at least one paid-subscriber live per week where I chat with you and answer any questions you have. The first paid subscriber live will be Monday, February 24th, at 8:30 PM EST.
You will get access to the exclusive Parnas Perspective thread where you can post and build community with other paid subscribers.
You will get access to exclusive paid subscriber only posts that will come out several times per week. These will not just be news based. I will also be providing my legal analysis on critical topics and my personal analysis of the craziness in the world, from a Gen Z lens.
With that, I will be back tomorrow morning for your morning news rundown. Thank you again.
Thank you. I’m on a limited income and still want to be informed! I appreciate you .
