Elon Musk and DOGE have begun mass layoffs at agencies around the country, these layoffs include:
More than half of the probationary staff at the Centers for Disease Control including almost all of the incoming class of the “disease detectives” meant to protect communities on the front lines of burgeoning disease crises.
More than 1,000 employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs, including those who assist with healthcare for veterans.
More than 300 employees at the National Nuclear Security Administration, although the federal government is now seeking to recall them.
More than 15,000 employees at the IRS who could be terminated as soon as this week.
More than 300 employees at the Environmental Protection Agency, including those who work on climate related matters.
Several individuals were laid off at the Federal Government's IT Department.
According to the Washington Post, these layoffs have harmed American communities nationwide including:
Limiting the number of Energy Department staff who handled the electricity bills for homeowners;
Reducing the staff at an Agriculture Department meant to assist poor rural communities in a state to just two employees; and
Shuttering a tiny Wyoming town’s Forest Service Office that has provided support to hikers and residents for Christmas tree permits.
European leaders will be holding an emergency summit this week to discuss how to deal with Donald Trump and the new American Administration.
NEWS: Egg prices have hit an all time high in the United States. The current, average cost of a dozen Grade A eggs in cities throughout the United States is now at $4.95. That is 13 cents higher than the previous record.
Vivek Ramaswamy has submitted paperwork in preparation for his anticipated bid for Ohio governor.
Donald Trump stated, "He who saves his Country does not violate any Law," sparking alarm as it raises concerns about potential disregard for legal boundaries.
Ghana's President states that the U.S. aid freeze is undermining its soft power.
